THINGS TO DO

Eating Out

In Playa Blanca, there are many fabulous restaurants serving all kinds of English, Spanish & Internacional cuisine. The majority are situated along the main front looking out over the sea. Four of our favourites on the front are Ninen (Italian fresh pasta) Typico Canario (Grill), Imagine (Indian) and Asiatico (Chinese/Thai).

Ninen, located in the town centre, of Playa Blanca. (We recommend you book the table in advance)

Typico Canaries, located on the main street near the church, is also a good option and great value, as is Rustoca's just a bit further up which does great pizzas.

There is a Burger King in the Commercial Papagayo Shopping Centre, on the front overlooking Dorada Beach, if you need a fast food fix!

If you drive past the above shopping centre and carry on a mile to the next number of good restaurants here including Lani's.

Evening Entertainment

The liveliest pubs are around the Dorada Beach shopping area or the Irish Anvil near the port.

Beach

Punta de Papagayo - At the southernmost tip of Lanzarote, with its surrounding landscape of volcanic ash, are the crystal clear waters and fine white sands of Papagayo, a wild stretch of beach composed of several small bays and coves. It is a bumpy ride to the beach on a dirt road but it is well worth it. To get there from the Petrol station go to the next roundabout and turn left. Follow this road out of the town for a mile until the next roundabout where you turn right. The road turns into a dirt track until you reach the
Papagayo area.

Playa Blanca - Playa Blanca Town Beach - 40 m. of fine golden sand with placid waters and a beautiful promenade to the small 12 harbours. Head straight down from the petrol station. At the bottom roundabout, it is right in front of you in the centre of Playa Blanca.

Flamingo Beach -  200 m. of fine white sand, next to Playa Blanca, ideal for scuba diving. Rental of sports equipment. Head straight down from the petrol station. At the bottom, roundabout turn left and head up the main Playa Blanca street. At the top on the right is the Centro Commercial Papagayo Shopping Centre. Park around here and walk through the shopping centre to the beach. Alternatively, walk from the town beach along the front.

Playa de Famara - In the northwest of the island of Lanzatore, the beach known as Famara beach with its pale golden sand stretches out over five kilometres. The perfect destination for surfing and lovely to walk along to...

Playa Dorada  - A sheltered beach of fine white sand 30m long, on the basaltic border of the coastline, next to Playa Blanca.

La Mulata - 80 m. of fine golden sand mixed with gravel, between Playa Blanca and the Faro de Pechiguera lighthouse.

La Campana - 140 m. of fine golden sand in proximity to the Faro de Pechiguera lighthouse.

Montaña Roja - 260 m. of fine golden sand near the Faro de Pechiguera lighthouse.

El Golfo - 150 m. of picturesque black sand.

La Cueva de los Verdes is a unique formation of landscape and volcanological characteristics of extraordinary value. Located in the north of the island, and integrated into the vast volcanic landscape of the Malpaís de la Corona, it is one of the wonders hidden in the bowels of Lanzarote, endowed with a mysterious and special mythological character.
The length of the cave reaches almost 8 kilometers, formed by a complex of tunnels and nooks and crannies with fascinating vaults and interior lagoons. Its visible section is formed by a kilometer of overlapping galleries with vertical interconnections, and its interior reaches up to fifty meters in height with widths of up to fifteen meters.
